Search by Common Name

When the species mentioned in a reference were not identified or were too numerous to list individually, they were lumped into the following taxonomic orders or suborders: anurans (i.e., frogs and toads), salamanders, turtles, sea turtles, lizards, and snakes. When a reference referred to all the orders/suborders in a taxonomic class, the class name was used: amphibian or reptile. Therefore, a reference that is listed under "anuran" will usually not also appear under the more general listing of "amphibian." The class name was also used if the reference was not examined and the taxa covered could not be deduced from the title.
